What we love about Crawley
The centre of Crawley is full of independent shops, retailers and wide variety of places to eat. However when we aren’t working at our florist shop, we love getting out exploring the local Crawley nature areas. One of our favourites for a Sunday stroll is Tilgate Park – with miles of woodland for walking, stunning lakes and pretty gardens perfect for picnics. Tilgate Park has an amazing Tree Trail full of rare heritage trees, which in autumn see their leaves turn into a beautiful sea of ruby reds, burnt orange and sunshine yellow. It’s easy to reach Tilgate Park by car from the M23/A23, 10 minute walk up Titmus Drive from Tilgate shops or Merobus service 2 runs to the park on weekends and bank holidays.

Crawley is heaped in history and dates all the way back to the 5th Century Saxon times. The Saxons named the settlement ‘Crow’s Leah’, which evolved over time into the spelling ‘Crawley’ by the 14th Century. The names has stuck since then, with Crawley developing into the large, vibrant town it is today thanks to its proximity to London and Gatwick Airport links.
